Fay Day of Service

Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) is a non-profit organization, founded in 1972, which shelters, rescues, and places homeless animals for adoption with loving families. CAP advocates respect and compassion for animal life and provides humane education to help prevent cruelty to animals.

The Houston Food Bank depends upon volunteers seven days a week to clean, sort, bag/box, palletize, shrink-wrap, and stage products for distribution throughout our 18-county service area where 1 million people who are food insecure reside.  The need for volunteers is especially great now.

Since 2006, Kids’ Meals has been making and delivering free, healthy meals directly to the homes of hungry children. Since inception, they have given more than 10.3 million free meals to food insecure children in 57 zip codes in Harris County and Montgomery County.  Kids’ Meals is a first responder to children ages 5 and under facing debilitating hunger due to extreme poverty.

Artist Boat is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote awareness and preservation of coastal margins and the marine environment through the disciplines of the sciences and the arts.

Undies for Everyone provides children living in poverty or crisis with new underwear, recognizing the importance of this small basic need as part of a child’s increased chances of long-term success.

Books Between Kids is a non-profit organization serving Houston’s at-risk children by providing them with books to build their own home libraries.

Each year, SEARCH Homeless Services helps thousands of individuals and families move from the streets into safe homes and stable lives through services that engage & stabilize, house, and educate.  SEARCH Homeless Services complements and partners with shelters and other agencies to fill the gaps for individuals struggling to change their lives. Going beyond services that address basic needs, SEARCH works to end the homeless experience through skilled case management and educational programs.

The Nature Discovery Center is dedicated to preserving their four-acre nature park and leading programs that ignite appreciation for nature among all ages.

Houston Botanic Garden enriches lives through discovery, education, and the conservation of plants and the natural environment.
