Summer Camps for Kids - FAYcation

Our Mission

The FAYcation Summer Camp offers participants a variety of enriching opportunities in line with the mission and values of The Fay School. Children will learn and grow intellectually, physically, socially, ethically, and artistically while developing self-confidence and a lifelong love of learning in a secure, enriching, and nurturing environment.

General Information

FAYcation is available for all Houston-area children entering Primary I (age 3) through Fifth Grade.  Listed below are weekly recaps and dates of our 2019 FAYcation Summer Camp.

All new FAYcation Summer Camp families will need to create a family account in our online registration system. Save your username and password, as this will allow you to edit your account, review and/or edit choices made, and view and print invoices. If you have attended FAYcation Summer Camp or the Extended Day school-year program, please login with the email address you used to establish your account.

  • What is the FAYcation Summer Camp?

    • FAYcation is a day camp for children ages three years through Fifth Grade. In addition to students enrolled at The Fay School, FAYcation is open to Houston-area students.
  • What are FAYcation Summer Camp hours?

    • Morning Care (or Early-Drop Off): 7:30-8:30am
    • Half-Day Option:  8:30am to 12:00pm
    • Full-Day Option:  8:30am to 3:00pm
    • Full-Day + Extended Day Option:  8:30am to 6:00pm
  • These hours are new this year. What sparked the change?

    • Based on feedback received from our current Fay Families, the FAYcation Summer Camp has updated their hours to mirror the Extended Day offerings available to Fay Families during the school year. 
  • Is each week different?

    • YES! FAYcation has a different theme each week of the summer camp. Activities, crafts, and games are all tied to the weekly theme. The themes for each week are listed below:
      • Week One: Wacky Water 
      • Week Two: Animal Planet
      • Week Three: Carnival 
      • Week Four: Out of this World 
  • Do you serve lunch at FAYcation? 

    • We are excited to announce that we have partnered with The Simply Fresh Kitchen, you now have the option to purchase lunch for your FAYcation camper!
  • Do we get to meet the FAYcation teachers prior to camp? 

    • YES!  Each spring wehost a FAYcation Meet the Teacher!
  • Do I have to enroll my child in all four weeks of FAYcation?

    • No, you may choose one week, two weeks, three weeks, or all four weeks!

  • Do you offer any kind of drop-in feature (a few days a week)?

    • Yes, we have added a drop-in feature this year to better provide families with flexibility in their weekly commitments or travel plans.
  • What will my camper do in the morning hours?

    • All campers participate in faculty-led classes, snack (provided), and recess.
  • Can my child, who just graduated from Fifth Grade, attend FAYcation?

    • YES!  We accept ages three-years through Fifth Grade students!
  • Some of our morning courses include:

    • Cooking Up Fun
    • Full S.T.E.A.M Ahead! 
    • Music and Motor
    • The Art of Play
    • Splish Splash Sports
    • Animals in Nature
  • What will my camper do during the afternoon hours?

    •  Primary campers (three and four-year olds) have story time and rest. 
    • Campers rotate through counselor-led arts and crafts activities, organized games in the Backyard, snacktivities, and much more!
    • All campers have snack and recess and specialized events tied into FAYcation's weekly theme!
  • What will my camper do during the late afternoon hours (3:00-6:00pm)?

    • All campers have the option to play organized games in the Backyard, the MPR (gym), or the Playspace, utilizing Fay's green, immersive campus. In addition, all campers can choose to participate in educational games in the tech lab, read books in the library, or play an organized game in the MPR  (gym).

  • What forms of payment does the FAYcation Summer Camp take?

    • New this year! The FAYcation Summer Camp only accepts credit/debit cards. 

  • Has the cost of FAYcation summer camp changed?

    • Our half day option pricing is consistent with our offerings during previous summers. Our Afternoon and Extended Day hours are similar to our Extended Day pricing structure offered during the school year. For specific pricing questions, please contact Extended Day Coordinator, Rachel Rubin
