The Fay School Annual Events

Throughout the year Fay hosts a variety of events designed to celebrate, build community, and support the school. Many of these are uniquely Fay, so please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our exciting annual calendar of events! The Fay School will be monitoring ongoing CDC recommendations and will update our event schedule accordingly. It is our hope to include as many parents in our events and committees as possible whether in person or virtually. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we take the necessary precautions to keep our community safe and healthy. We will communicate updates as we are able.

Head of School Coffees- Monthly

Each month we host a Head of School Coffee for parents that cover a wide range of topics and allow for questions and conversation. These coffees are a great way to hear about what's going on at Fay!

All School Parent Nights- September

Beginning at 6:00pm there will be a brief presentation to parents and afterwards, all parents will go to their children’s classrooms for presentations by the teachers. Please note this event is split by grade into two nights to ensure we can easily accommodate all families on campus and each night will include only one session.

Halloween Carnival- October

The Halloween Carnival is for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade students. Students in these grades are encouraged to come to school in an appropriate Halloween costume to enjoy our annual parade followed by carnival games and activities.

Book Fair- November

The annual Fay Book Fair is set up each year in the Multipurpose Room of the Marie Fay Evnochides Building. During these three days all classes will visit the Book Fair to use their student purchase funds and look through the great selection of books. All families and grandparents will receive an invitation to Book Fair as well as information on how to provide a spending allowance for their student(s) and how to donate a book through the Friends of Library program.

Fay Fast Forward Day- January

In January all students will "fast forward" and experience life in the next grade. This exciting day is designed to ensure a comfortable transition between grade levels and to encourage conversation between students and parents regarding the next grade. This day is followed by Fay Fast Forward grade level coffees for all parents.

Fay Fast Forward Coffees- January

All parents will be invited to grade-level Fast Forward coffees to meet with the teachers for the grade their child will be entering the following year. These open and informative coffees are designed to allow parents to fully explore what Fay has to offer at the next grade level prior to our re-enrollment period.

Gala- Houstonian Hotel

The annual Fay School Gala is one of the school's two fundraisers. The Gala is an evening of fun, friends, and most importantly, support for The Fay School. Funds from this evening's auction and table sales go to support a variety of programs and initiatives each year.

Grandparents' Day- April

Each year The Fay School welcomes grandparents and grand-friends to campus for a wonderful morning of community. The morning will afford grandparents an opportunity to visit with students to see what they have been learning in class and a chance to hear from Fay’s Leadership Team.

Fay Fun Day- April

Fay's version of field day, where all students in grade Kindergarten through 5th enjoy a day of games, challenges, and competitions. Be sure your student comes to school in shorts, a Fay T-Shirt, and tennis shoes.

Fay Fair- May

This Fay tradition is a celebration for all families as our year comes to a close. The backyard is transformed into a huge play area with carnival games, bouncies, great food, and the infamous dunking booth! Be sure to show up to this event and end the year with a bang!

Publisher's Picnic & Art Show- May

These two days are for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade families. Each family arrives on campus with a picnic lunch to enjoy with their student(s) on the backyard lawn. During lunch, families will read the student portfolio work from the year and will enjoy displays of student art.
