Throughout the year Fay hosts a variety of events designed to celebrate, build community, and support the school. Many of these are uniquely Fay, so please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our exciting annual calendar of events!
PI/PII Play in the Park—August
This Fay tradition is a celebration of the end of summer and the return to school for our younger students. This casual gathering at the park allows students to play and interact with their classmates and meet all of our new Fay families that will be joining them in class this year.
Head of School Coffees—Monthly
Each month Bob Meyer hosts a Head of School Coffee in the Elementary Multipurpose Room for parents that cover a wide range of topics and allow for questions and conversation. These coffees are a great way to hear about what's going on at Fay!
All School Parent Nights—September
Beginning at 6:00 pm there will be a brief presentation by Bob Meyer, Head of School, to parents and afterwards all parents will go to their children’s classrooms for presentations by the teachers. Please note this event is split by grade into two nights to ensure we can easily accommodate all families on campus and each night will include only one session.
The Halloween Carnival is for Kindergarten through 5th grade students during the school day. Student in these grades are encouraged to come to school in an appropriate Halloween costume to enjoy our annual parade followed by carnival games and activities. This day ends with noon dismissal for all students.
The annual Fay Book Fair is set up each year in the Multipurpose Room of the Marie Fay Evnochides Building. During these three days all classes will visit the Book Fair to use their personal purchase funds and look through the great selection of books. All families and grandparents will receive an invitation to Book Fair as well as forms for Friends of the Library and Personal Purchase in October.
Each year The Fay School welcomes grandparents and grand-friends to campus for a wonderful morning of community. The morning will afford grandparents an opportunity to visit with students and get to see what they have been learning in class this year.
Fay Fast Forward Day—January
In January all students will "fast forward" to 2018-2019 and experience life in the next grade. This exciting day is designed to ensure a comfortable transition between grade levels and to encourage conversation between students and parents regarding the next grade. This day is followed by Fay Fast Forward grade level coffees for all parents.
Fay Fast Forward Coffees—January
All parents will be invited to grade-level Fast Forward coffees to meet with the teachers for the grade their child will be entering the following year. These open and informative coffees are designed to allow parents to fully explore what Fay has to offer at the next grade level prior to our re-enrollment period.
