Parents' Club

The annual Book Fair encourages a love of reading in our Fay community and raises money that supports the purchase of new books for The Fay School Wolf Library. This year, the Book Fair will be held in-person at Barnes & Noble at 2030 West Gray Street on Thursday, September 21 and Friday, September 22. Volunteers are needed to assist in planning and promoting the Book Fair, decorating the library to celebrate Book Fair, and staffing the Fay table at Barnes & Noble on September 21 and 22.

Each year, Fay participates in the largest canoe and kayak race in Texas - the Buffalo Bayou Regatta! Make plans to join the Fay community on campus the day of the event, and cheer on our Gator kayak team as they float by Fay. The spring 2024 regatta will be announced in January 2024.

Our Campus Decorations & Class Parties committee decorates campus during seasonal times of the year and works with our department chairs to plan and organize class party activities. Campus decorations are primarily set up during the fall/winter, and class parties are held 4-5 times throughout the year. Volunteers will help set up/tear down campus decorations and help plan and prep activities for class parties. 

This committee coordinates events that celebrate the great work that the Fay faculty and staff do throughout the year! In the fall, a large luncheon is coordinated, and in the spring, the committee coordinates a week of events in May to acknowledge the impact that faculty and staff have on the school. This committee needs assistance in planning and staffing the luncheon and other events.

The Family Engagement committee plans special events for families to come together as a Fay community throughout the year. Events will be held both on and off campus and will be scheduled throughout the academic year. Events can include things such as on-campus movies, Bingo and spirit nights held at local restaurants. Volunteers will help prepare for events and help with any set up/tear down of events as needed.

Each year, Fay hosts a Gala or Backyard Bash event in celebration and support of the school. The celebration and auction ensures a night of fun for all while providing generous support for The Fay School programs. Volunteers are needed to help secure silent and live auction items, prepare for the event, and help set up the day of. There are many opportunities at every level of commitment and every year a large group of great volunteers is needed to ensure a huge success! This year, the Fay Gala will be help on April 6, 2024. 

The inaugural Fay Golf Tournament was held in Spring 2021 at Memorial Park, and was such a success, it is now a biennial event. The 2023 Golf Tournament was held at Sugar Creek Country Club, and was a wonderful event that supported the fundraising goals of our Backyard Bash. The next golf tournament will be held in either Fall 2024 or Spring 2025.

The Fay School will welcome all Grandparents' and Special friends to visit campus with their Fay Gator! Guests will have the opportunity to meet teachers and visit classrooms, tour our campus grounds, participate in a few activities and experience all of the wonderful things that Fay does each and every day. This year, the event will be hosted “open house style” where guests and students can come and go during their allotted time schedule and participate in the activities that they so choose. All students whose last names begin with the letters A – L will participate in our morning session, and all students whose last names begin with the letters M – Z will participate in our afternoon session. Registration is currently open, and the registration deadline is Wednesday, September 13.

An official schedule and list of activities will be available online in early September so guests can make the most of their experience at Fay. All registered guests will receive an email from Assistant Director of Advancement, Lauren Sposato, the week prior to the event with all details, schedules, maps and additional information.

In order to keep our library organized for our students, parent volunteers are needed to re-shelve books, catalog new books, straighten shelves and assist Ms. Hopkins with other library needs! Volunteer slots are available all throughout the year.
