Meet Our New 24-25 Faculty and Staff

Cassi Agee joins us as a Primary II Lead Teacher. Cassi has 10 years of experience as a Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher and comes to us from St. Francis Episcopal School after teaching in Hong Kong and Oman. Cassi holds a BS in Early Childhood Education from Bemidji State University and an MS in Early Childhood Education Curriculum and Instruction with a specialty in Constructivism from Portland State University. Cassi has experience in PYP and Reggio Emilia programs and is working towards her Nature-Based Teacher certification with the Eastern Region Association of Forest and Nature Schools.

Erica Barrera joins The Fay School as a Third Grade Lead Teacher. Erica holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from Texas A&M University. She has nine years of experience as an Educator, Curriculum Designer, and Advanced Learning Facilitator in schools in the Conroe and Humble ISDs. Erica received the Teacher of the Year award at Centennial Elementary in 2021.

Holly Beery joins the School as a Kindergarten Lead Teacher, coming to Fay after six years as a Kindergarten and First Grade Classroom Teacher at Briarmeadow Elementary School (HISD). Holly has 14 years of experience working with Pre-K and Elementary students, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Cognitive Studies, and a Master’s of Education in Learning and Design from the Peabody College of Vanderbilt University.

Caroline Flores joins Fay as our new Instructional Specialist. Caroline graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas State University with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies and has 16 years of instructional experience as a teacher at schools in Spring Branch ISD and in private schools in Houston. She comes to us from 8 years at St. Francis Episcopal School, where she taught Elementary and Middle School students.

The Instructional Specialist role is two-fold in nature: student-facing and teacher-facing. Main responsibilities are assisting teachers in evaluating student needs, determining action steps for students, and working closely with teachers and the Student Support Team to coach effective, student-centered, differentiated teaching and learning. This specialist works closely with teachers of students who are either facing challenges or needing enrichment, coaching teachers in instructional best practices in the school curricula, effective unit/lesson planning, Responsive Classroom academic competencies, differentiation, and integrating outdoor experiences in the curriculum.

Kat Hyde joins the School as an interim Physical Education Teacher. Kat holds a BA from the University of Texas at Austin and is an accredited TEFL teacher. She has nearly eight years of experience working as a Physical Education Teacher, Coach, and Substitute Teacher of all grades in private and independent schools in the Houston area, most recently as the High School Boys Volleyball Assistant Coach at St. Francis Episcopal School. Kat is a published children’s book author and holds yoga certifications for teaching adults, teenagers, and children.

Aubrey Kinat joins us as a Third Grade Lead Teacher with 12 years of experience teaching Second through Fourth Grade students. She holds a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication in Professional Writing and a Master of Professional Writing from the University of Oklahoma. Aubrey has extensive in-school leadership experience, grown through her time teaching in HISD, Katy ISD, and private schools. She has experience in PBL and workshop-style classrooms and was named Teacher of the Year at Kipling Elementary School in 2020.

Meredith Langman joins the School as a Second Grade Lead Teacher, coming to us with four years of teaching experience, most recently as a Kindergarten Teacher at River Oaks Baptist School. She holds a BS in Elementary Education from Auburn University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with three consecutive years on the Dean’s List.

Rachel McDonald joins us as a Primary I Assistant Teacher. Rachel has 15 years of experience teaching Pre-K through Second Grade in charter schools and in public and public magnet schools in HISD and Humble ISD. She holds a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston – Clear Lake, and most recently was a First Grade Teacher at Jack Fields Elementary in Humble ISD. Rachel has deep experience teaching in PBL classrooms and has designed Environmental Science curriculums for Pre-K through Second Grade learners.

Chelsea Rangel joins Fay as our Primary Music & Motor Teacher with 10 years of experience teaching in school settings as well as extensive private teaching experience. Chelsea comes to us from The Village School where she was the Elementary School Music Teacher for the past three years. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Houston Christian University and has performed with musical ensembles across the world.

Mariah Waters joins The Fay School as a Kindergarten Assistant Teacher.  She received her BS in Marine Biology at Texas A&M University at Galveston, and her Master’s of Education at Antioch University New England.  Mariah is a Texas Master Naturalist with more than eight years of working as an instructor and science educator, most recently as the Education Coordinator with the Galveston Bay Foundation.

Janet Hinojosa has been promoted to Director of Extended Day from Extended Day Coordinator.

Jimena Ibarra has moved to First Grade Assistant Teacher from Kindergarten Assistant Teacher.

Natalie Loverich has moved to Kindergarten Assistant Teacher from First Grade Assistant Teacher.

Alicia Lux has moved to Director of Communications from Interim Director of Communications.

KC McMordie has moved to Substitute Coordinator from Third Grade Lead Teacher.

Ali Salinas has moved to Director of Curriculum and Instruction from Instructional Specialist.

Lauren Sposato has been promoted to Associate Director of Advancement from Assistant Director of Advancement.

Lucy Strickland has moved to Primary II Assistant Teacher from Primary I Assistant Teacher.

Emily Womack has moved to Third Grade Lead Teacher from Kindergarten Lead Teacher.
