A Letter From Fay's Board Chair

Omar Samji, Fay's New 2020-2021 Board Chair.

Dear Fay Family,

We have all felt it – the sense of warmth and connectedness as we enter The Fay School’s campus. As parents, we are deeply invested in Fay’s mission to provide a nurturing, enriching, and academically innovative environment for our children’s education and development. Authenticity to that mission has grounded the school’s identity since its founding and is a big part of what creates the emotional connectedness of the Fay Family. Even in the hustle and bustle of morning carpool, our few minutes on campus remind us that we are at a school that truly does put the needs of the children first.

A key element of Fay is the Leadership Development through Emotional Intelligence that is infused both in and outside the classroom. Reflecting back on my own life, I know I would have benefited from developing emotional intelligence from a young age. Combined with Fay’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, which the Leadership Team and Faculty have shown both commitment to and results in, Fay really does have what it takes to produce tomorrow’s leaders.

This past school year, our eldest child, Kaysan, graduated from Fay. His journey into middle school has been remarkable. What he learned at Fay, not just his core academics, but also his executive function skills, emotional intelligence, and leadership confidence have shone through in so many ways.  Dare I say, we didn’t appreciate just how well prepared he was going to be, as a student and a leader, entering middle school. It has been a vivid reminder to us of the educational value that we know Fay offers our children, and of the impact Fay is having on their futures.

This is a time of strength and opportunity for The Fay School and our community. Fay is blessed to have a strong and stable Leadership Team, an incredibly supportive parent community, outstanding faculty and staff, a heathy Board, and sound financials. The Board is focused on helping ensure that Fay maximizes the opportunities that this powerful confluence creates so that families for decades to come will continue to feel the warmth and connectedness that we do every day that our children attend The Fay School.

WISHING YOU ALL GOOD HEALTH AND PERSONAL FULFILLMENT.

OMAR SAMJI
