Fay Breaks Student Retention Records!

Tuesday, February 22, 2022

The Fay School just celebrated its 30th Anniversary and honored its founder, Marie Fay Evnochides, who envisioned Fay as a school "where children come first." Fay builds on this premise while implementing researched-based teaching and learning principles that empower students through leadership development and emotional intelligence. As a result, Fay has begun to garner national attention through its innovation, dedication, commitment to environmental responsibility, and focus on student learning.

Fay students engaged in hands-on learning.

This year broke a record for The Fay School, and we're thrilled! Today, Fay has retained about 95% of our current eligible students for the 2022-2023 school year, and we predict that this percentage will remain above 94%. In addition, our retention rate, or the rate of eligible students who choose to return to The Fay School for the following year, sits well above the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) 3-year average of 89.63% for all NAIS schools. This statistic is unprecedented, and we have a lot to celebrate!

When we couple this exceptional retention rate with our 100% participation rate in the Annual Fund and our sustained increase in applications over the past three admissions cycles, and all of the other positive metrics outlined in our recent Annual Report, it proves that our approach to ambitious teaching and learning, our commitment to leadership development through emotional intelligence, and how we leverage our outdoor learning spaces are second to none.

Thank you to all Friends of Fay for your continued confidence, partnership, and contribution to our school's success. We are making history as a school and, more importantly, staying true to our mission of building the world's next generation of leaders. We look forward to making more progress, breaking more records, and continuing to lead in education.
