Summer Series 2026

All Gators will receive Fay's 2026-27 spirit shirt! Shirts will be available for pick up at Meet the Teacher on Wednesday, August 12. To cut down on the waste of over-ordering shirts, we ask that you provide t-shirt sizing for all of your children. The 2026-2027 Student T-Shirt Size Form is available in My Portal. We need sizes no later than Thursday, July 23, so don't delay!

Upon logging into My Portal you will see a banner toward the top of the page that prompts you to complete required school forms, which include:

• Parent-Student Handbook Acknowledgment
  * Published July 23, 2026
• Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form
  *This form requires signatures from BOTH parents/guardians, except for single-parent/guardian households that maintain educational rights.
• Profile Update Form
• Emergency Contact Form
• Volunteer Waiver Form
  * Required only for families new to Fay or who have not completed the form in a previous year.

Please complete all forms by August 1. Children whose forms are incomplete will not be allowed to attend school due to safety and liability concerns.

Required health forms will be completed through Magnus. To access Magnus, login to My Portal, select the resources tab, and select "Magnus Health Link." Once you are on the Magnus page, you will be prompted to complete the required list of health forms for your child(ren). For more in-depth instructions, please see our Magnus Assistance Sheet.

New families should have received a Magnus invitation email. For questions, please submit a ticket here.

The Fay School uses the third-party BrightArrow messaging system to deliver timely updates and reminders related to school operations, including weather notices and other emergency communications.  To receive text message reminders and emergency notifications, please text YES to 79041 to subscribe to The Fay School's mass communications text message system. We will be performing a message test on Tuesday, July 28; please ensure that you are fully registered to receive messages before this date, and please submit a ticket if you do not receive the test message on July 28.

The Fay School utilizes SchoolPass for security, attendance, and visitor management. You should have received a welcome email directly from SchoolPass on Thursday, July 16, with information about downloading, setting up, and using the SchoolPass mobile application for carpool, campus visits, and more. Having your account properly set up will help our security team identify and process you when you come to campus.

Authorized Transporter within SchoolPass 
If someone other than your child's parent or legal guardian will be transporting your child from school, please add that person and their vehicle to your SchoolPass account. This information can be added to either parent account. Students will not be released to anyone who is not set up properly in SchoolPass. We will reach out if there is any question about whether a person is authorized to pick up a student. 

Registration for Fall 2026 Stay at Fay, Play at Fay, After-School Activities, and Sibling Holdovers is open now! Don't delay in making your Extended Day reservations for the Fall semester.

Purchase Uniforms with Lands’ End: 
To order uniforms online, select "School", then "Find My School", and enter "The Fay School" in the field for School Name and "Texas" in the dropdown selection for State. Because these items are custom-manufactured by Lands' End, shipping can take longer than expected, so don't delay in placing your order. See our Uniform Guidelines for more information.

The Clothing Nook: 
An area on Fay's campus where families can purchase gently used uniforms at a discounted price. Each item is priced at $5 and can be purchased using credit or exact change. For your convenience, a table with Clothing Nook items available for purchase will be set up in the Commons during Meet the Teacher. If you are interested in purchasing from the Clothing Nook at another time, please contact the Educational Administrative Coordinator, Evelyn Crockett.

Backpacks: 
Fay students receive a new backpack every other year. Primary I, Kindergarten, Second Grade, and Fourth Grade students will receive a new Fay backpack at Meet the Teacher. All new Fay attendees will receive a backpack regardless of grade. If any student needs a replacement backpack, they may purchase one through Lands' End. 

Purchase Fay Spirit Gear: 
We are pleased to offer an extended selection of Fay merchandise for children and adults through our spirit gear partner, SquadLocker! These items can be worn on Fridays, after school hours, and during Fay events. Please note that students are not allowed to wear t-shirts or basketball shorts on Monday through Thursday.

We ask for your support in making carpool a safe time on our campus. Please refer to our Carpool Guidelines for drop-off and pick-up locations and other safety information. Carpool times are as follows:

Morning Drop-Off

  • Carpool drop-off runs 8:00am - 8:20am 
  • School starts at 8:30am
• Kindergarten - Fifth Grade
  • Carpool drop-off runs 7:45am - 8:15am
  • School starts at 8:20am

Afternoon Pick-Up

  • Dismissal at 2:30pm
  • Carpool pick-up runs 2:30pm - 2:50pm
• Kindergarten - Second Grade*
  • Dismissal at 3:15pm
  • Carpool pick-up runs 3:15pm - 3:30pm  
• Third - Fifth Grade*
  • Dismissal at 3:30pm
  • Carpool pick-up runs 3:30pm - 3:45pm

*Carpool drivers arriving for the 3:15pm pick-up for Kindergarten through Second Grade should not arrive on campus prior to 2:50pm to make way for Primary pick-up; carpool drivers arriving for the 3:30pm pick-up for Third through Fifth Grade should not arrive on campus prior to 3:25pm to make way for Lower Elementary pick-up. Should you arrive early, the security officer on duty will place you in a queue or may ask you to park until the earlier carpool pickup has been completed. Follow any directions given by the security officer on duty. 

Families will receive two carpool tags at Meet the Teacher on Wednesday, August 12; for families with multiple children, tags will be available for pickup with the oldest child's teacher. Carpool tags are required when entering campus and at all times on campus to help us manage traffic safely and efficiently. Please follow all directions from safety officers and staff when entering and exiting campus and on the campus drive. Any changes to or variations on carpool procedures during the school year will be communicated through the Fay Flyer.

Sibling Holdovers

Sibling Holdovers is a free after-school program designed so families with multiple children can pick up all children at the same time and location during carpool hours. Younger siblings may remain in Sibling Holdovers while waiting for older siblings to finish their school day and be dismissed. Sibling Holdovers is run through our Extended Day office. To participate, the youngest sibling(s) must be registered for this service.

Reading over the summer, whether your child is listening to you read or reading books on their own, is critical to maintaining their reading skills and fostering their love of learning. Houston Public Library and Harris County Public Library have books and resources for staying busy all summer long. Join their Summer Reading Programs or visit as a family to borrow books. 

Class rosters will be released on Thursday, August 6. Please watch for an email from The Fay School with your child(ren)'s teacher assignments.

Ease into your return to school with our Meet the Teacher day. Children and their parents will meet their lead and assistant teachers and see their home classrooms. Opportunities to purchase spirit wear and shop the Clothing Nook will also be available. 

This year, Meet the Teacher for all grades - Primary and Lower and Upper Elementary - will be held on Wednesday, August 12:

• 8:30 - 9:15am: Student last names Q-Z
• 10:00 - 10:45am: Student last names L-P
• 12:30 - 1:15pm: Student last names G-K
• 2:00 - 2:45pm: Student last names A-F

Thursday, August 13 is the first day of school for all grades: a half day for Primary I and Primary II, with an 11:15am dismissal time, and a full day for Elementary (Kindergarten through Fifth Grade), with normal dismissal times.

This year, we are offering two opportunities for Fay families to gather in community and celebrate the new school year! Representatives from the Parents' Club will also be present to provide information and answer questions about parent volunteer opportunities. Please note that these events are segmented by age for developmental appropriateness and participant safety, and to provide children and families with an opportunity to spend time getting to know each other within grade groups.

Roller Rink Party - Saturday, August 15
Kindergarten - Fifth Grade

Join us for the annual Back-to-School Roller Rink Party on Saturday, August 15, from 9:30 - 11:30am at Dairy Ashford Roller Rink (1820 S. Dairy Ashford, Houston, Texas 77077). This event is open to Gators in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Tickets are required for all skaters, and include skates, skate assistants, pizza, and drinks! Tickets can be purchased online. You DO NOT need a ticket if you are not planning to skate! All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Wonderwild Social - Saturday, August 29
Primary I - First Grade

New this year! Young Gators and their families are invited to jump into the school year at Wonderwild indoor playground (767 N Shepherd Dr #400, Houston, TX 77007) on Saturday, August 29, from 10:00am - 12:00pm.  This event is open to Gators in Primary I through First Grade; older siblings are welcome to attend with the purchase of a ticket. Tickets can be purchased online and include snacks and drinks. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

It's Parents' Night at school! Leave your little Gators at home and visit their classrooms for presentations from their teachers. School administration will provide updates on the 2026-27 school year. Grade-level night assignments will be announced as we get closer to September.

The Annual Fund is the most vital fundraising effort of the year. Led by chairs Marissa and Zach Savrick, parents of Eve '30 and Stella '33, this campaign will kick off in the fall semester. Each year, our community comes together as TEAM FAY to achieve 100% Board, Staff, and Fay Family participation! Be on the lookout for more information in Fay Flyer. 

The Fay School will hold its annual Book Fair in person on Thursday, October 22, and Friday, October 23, 2026 at Barnes & Noble, 2030 West Gray Street . The Book Fair encourages Gators' love of reading, and a portion of the proceeds supports new reading materials in The Fay School Wolf Library. Additional details about the Book Fair, including the Teacher Picks Reading List, will be released as we get closer to the event. Watch your Fay Flyer for details!

The Fall Festival has quickly become one of Fay's favorite events! Enjoy an afternoon at this ticketed event open to our current Fay students, their families, and Fay alumni on Fay's campus, with a variety of different bounce houses, carnival booths and games, balloon artists, and more! Save the date and check your Fay Flyer for ticket sales! 

The Fay School is thrilled to welcome all grandparents and special friends to visit campus with their Fay Gator! Guests will have the opportunity to meet faculty, visit classrooms, participate in activities, and experience all of the joy of the Fay campus. The event is structured to allow guests and students to come and go during their allotted time slot and participate in the activities that they so choose. Save the date and share with Gator grandparents and special friends so they can start planning now! More details will be released in the Fay Flyer.

Our Backyard Bash is our biggest event of the year! This adults-only event will include food, fun, live music, a live auction, and more. More information on how you can get involved coming soon!
