Summer Series 2025

Upon logging into My Portal you will see a banner toward to the top of the page that prompts you to complete required school forms which include:

• Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form
  *This form requires signatures from BOTH parents/guardians, except for single parent/guardian households that maintain educational rights.
• Profile Update Form
• Student Parent Handbook
• Emergency Contact Form
• Volunteer Waiver Form

Please complete all forms by August 1. Children whose forms are incomplete will not be allowed to attend school due to safety and liability concerns.

Required health forms will be completed through Magnus. To access Magnus, login to My Portal, select the resources tab, and select "Magnus Health Link." Once you are on the Magnus page, you will be prompted to complete the required list of health forms for your child(ren). For more in depth instructions, please see our Magnus Assistance Sheet.

New families should have received a Magnus invitation email. For questions, please submit a ticket here.

The Fay School uses the third-party BrightArrow messaging system to deliver timely updates and reminders related to school operations, including weather notices and other emergency communications.  To receive text message reminders and emergency notifications, please text YES to 79041 to subscribe to The Fay School's mass communications text message system. We will be performing a message test on Tuesday, August 5; please ensure that you are fully registered to receive messages before this date, and please submit a ticket if you do not receive the test message on August 5.

SchoolPass
We will continue to use SchoolPass for security, attendance, and visitor management. In August, you will receive a separate welcome email on downloading, setting up, and using the SchoolPass mobile application for carpool, campus visits, and more. Having your account properly set up will help our security team identify and process you when you come to campus.

Authorized Transporter within SchoolPass 
If someone other than your child's parent or legal guardian will be transporting your child from school, we ask that you have that person and their vehicle added to your SchoolPass account. This can be added to either parent account. Students will not be released to anyone that is not set up properly in SchoolPass. We will reach out if there is a question if a person is authorized to pick up a student.

• Kindergarten - Fifth Grade                  7:45am - 8:15am 
• Primary I & Primary II                             8:00am - 8:20am  

Afternoon Pick-Up  

Families with multiple children: your pick-up time and location will be according to the oldest child. Lower elementary siblings with earlier release will be held at Stay at Fay until their upper elementary sibling's pick-up time.

• Primary I & Primary II                              2:30pm - 2:50pm
• Kindergarten - Second Grade*           3:15pm - 3:30pm 
• Third - Fifth Grade*                                   3:30pm - 3:45pm

*Carpool drivers arriving for 3:15pm pick-up for Kindergarten through Second Grade should not arrive on campus prior to 2:50pm to make way for Primary pick up; carpool drivers arriving for 3:30pm pick-up for Third through Fifth Grade should not arrive on campus prior to 3:25pm to make way for Lower Elementary pick-up. Should you arrive early, the security officer on duty will place you in a queue or may ask you to park until earlier carpool pickup has been completed. Follow any directions given by the security officer on duty.

Purchase Uniforms with Lands’ End: 
To order uniforms online, select "School", then "Find My School", and enter "The Fay School" in the field for School Name and "Texas" in the dropdown selection for State. Please note that we no longer require formal dress uniform days. Because pieces are custom manufactured by Lands' End, shipping of these items can take longer than expected, so don't delay in placing your order.

The Clothing Nook: 
An area on Fay's campus where families can purchase gently used uniforms at a discounted price. Each item is priced at $5, and can be purchased using credit or exact change. For your convenience, we will have a table with Clothing Nook items available for purchase set up during Meet-the-Teacher days. If you are interested in purchasing from the Clothing Nook, please contact the Educational Administrative Coordinator, Evelyn Crockett.

Backpacks: 
Fay students are provided with a new backpack every other year. Primary I, Kindergarten, Second Grade, and Fourth Grade students will receive a new branded backpack at Meet the Teacher. All new Fay attendees will receive a backpack even if they are in a grade not listed above. If any student needs a replacement backpack, they may purchase one through Land's End. 

Purchase Fay Spirit Gear: 
We are pleased to offer two options for our Fay Family to order additional Fay merchandise! These items can be worn on Fridays, after school hours, and during Fay events. Please note, students are not allowed to wear t-shirts or basketball shorts Monday through Thursday.

Class rosters will be released on Thursday, August 14. Please watch for an email from The Fay School with your children's teacher assignments.

Registration for Fall 2025 Stay at Fay, Play at Fay, and After-School Activities is open! If you have not yet made an account, you will login by clicking the “Login using My Portal” button at the bottom of the registration page. This will utilize your My Portal login credentials to create your Extended Day Registration Module account preloaded with your family’s information. If you have any trouble with this function, you may alternately utilize the “New User Sign-Up” section and create your account. If you have any questions about Extended Day Programs for the Fall, please contact Janet Hinojosa, Director of Extended Day.

Reading over the summer, whether your child is listening to you read or reading books on their own, is critical to maintaining their reading skills and fostering their love of learning. Students entering First - Fifth Grade should complete a Summer Reading Bingo card over the summer break. Our aim is to encourage students to explore a wide range of books and to enjoy the process of tracking their reading progress.

Birthday Book Club Form
Celebrate your child's birthday by dedicating a book in your child's name to the Wolf Library for $20! On or near your child's birthday, they will get to choose a book where their birthday nameplate will be placed inside and remain for years to come. Summer birthdays can also be honored during the year!

Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Library is a special way to purchase a book in honor of your child through the Fay library. Your child will select a book with Ms. Hopkins and have a custom bookplate placed inside.

Ease into your return to school with our Meet the Teacher day. Children and their parents will meet their lead and assistant teachers and see their home classrooms. Opportunities to purchase spirit wear and shop the Clothing Nook will also be available. 

This year, Meet the Teacher for all grades - Primary and Lower and Upper Elementary - will be held on Tuesday, August 19:

• 8:30 - 9:15am: Student last names A-F
• 10:00 - 10:45am: Student last names G-K
• 12:30 - 1:15pm: Student last names L-P
• 2:00 - 2:45pm: Student last names Q-Z

Wednesday, August 20 is the first day of school, a full day, for Lower and Upper Elementary, Kindergarten - Fifth Grade.

Thursday, August 21 is the first day of school, a half day, for Primary Grades, with an 11:15am dismissal time for Primary only. Elementary children have a full day of school on August 21.

Join us for our the annual Back-to-School Roller Rink Party on Saturday, August 23 from 9:30 - 11:30am at Dairy Ashford Roller Rink. Tickets are required for all skaters, and include skates, skate assistants, pizza and drinks! Tickets can be purchased online, and the deadline to purchase a ticket is Thursday, August 21. You DO NOT need a ticket if you are not planning to skate! Contact Associate Director of Advancement Lauren Sposato for any questions.

It's Parents' Night at school! Leave your little Gators at home and visit their classrooms for presentations from their teachers. School administration will provide updates on the 2025-26 school year, and representatives from the Parents' Club will also be present to provide information and answer questions about parent volunteer opportunities. Calling all baseball fans! Join Fay for a spirit day at the Sugar Land Space Cowboys game on Sunday, September 21. The game begins at 2:05pm, but we invite you to see our Third, Fourth, and Fifth Graders sing the National Anthem beforehand. The Annual Fund is the most vital fundraising effort of the year. Led by chairs Kristen and Zach Colander, parents of Adelaide '28 and Amelia '32, this campaign will kick off in the fall semester. Each year, our community comes together as TEAM FAY to achieve 100% Board, Staff, and Fay Family participation! Be on the lookout for more information in Fay Flyer. 

The Fay School is thrilled to welcome all grandparents and special friends to visit campus with their Fay Gator! Guests will have the opportunity to meet faculty, visit classrooms, participate in activities, and experience all of the joy of the Fay campus. The event is structured to allow guests and students to come and go during their allotted time slot and participate in the activities that they so choose. There will be two sessions, and registration will be divided by last names of students. All students whose last name begin with the letters M - Z will participate in our first session (8:30am - 10:00am) and all students who last names begin with the letters A - L will participate in our second session (11:00am - 12:30pm). Registration will open on Thursday, August 28 and will close on Friday, October 3.

We have made arrangements for overnight accommodations at The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa. The Fall Festival has quickly grown to be one of Fay's favorite events! Enjoy an afternoon at this ticketed event that is open to our current Fay students, their families, and Fay alumni on Fay's campus with a variety of different bounce houses, carnival booths and games, balloon artists, and more! Save the date and check your Fay Flyer for ticket sales!

The Fay School will hold its annual Book Fair in person on Wednesday, January 28 and Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Barnes & Noble, 2030 West Gray Street . The Book Fair encourages a love of reading in our students, and a portion of the proceeds from the Book Fair provides funds for new reading materials in The Fay School Wolf Library. Additional details about the Book Fair, including the Teacher Picks Reading List, will be released as we get closer to the event. Watch your Fay Flyer for details!

Our Backyard Bash is our biggest event of the year! This adults-only event will include food, fun, live music, a live auction, and more. More information on how you can get involved coming soon!
