History

Combining a rigorous academic foundation, with the tools for leadership development, come see for yourself how The Fay School has become one of the most respected primary and elementary programs in Houston.

Several periods of growth have marked The Fay School’s history.  Marie Fay Evnochides, a pioneer in early childhood education and our Founding Head of School, envisioned a school where “children come first.” Through the support of several visionary founders, including Carolyn Grant Fay, Marie’s mother, Marie’s vision become reality and The Fay School opened its doors to students in 1991.  Marie’s successful and artful leadership of The Fay School over 18 years saw the campus expand from that first class of students in The Fay House to the campus we enjoy today.

Over the years, The Fay School curriculum has proven that children thrive in a holistic learning environment, where they are challenged to develop intellectually, physically, emotionally, and artistically.

As The Fay School continues to grow, we further establish ourselves as the premier choice for elementary education in Houston.  Our graduates distinguish themselves in Middle and Upper School throughout the city as scholars, leaders, athletes, and artists.

Building upon a rigorous academic program, our leadership development program has been recognized on both national and international levels.  Our communication and volunteer platforms have received national recognition as well.

Our journey is one of vision and determination.  The Fay School continues to grow from that passionate mission of a handful of families and supporters to our current presence in the community – an innovator in the field of elementary education and leadership development.
